1. from whence then hath it tares?

Vậy thì cỏ lùng bởi đâu mà ra?

2. The wheat and the tares have grown close together.

Lúa mì và cỏ lùng đã cùng mọc lên gần nhau.

3. “But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

“Đến khi lúa mì lớn lên, và trổ bông, thì cỏ lùng cũng lòi ra.

4. “But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

“Chủ rằng: Chẳng nên, e khi nhổ cỏ lùng, hoặc các ngươi nhổ lộn lúa mì đi chăng.

5. “Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn” (verses 25–30).

“Hãy để cho cả hai thứ cùng lớn lên cho đến mùa gặt; đến mùa gặt, ta sẽ dặn con gặt rằng: trước hết hãy nhổ cỏ lùng, bó lại từng bó mà đốt đi; song hãy thâu trữ lúa mì vào kho ta” (các câu 25–30).

6. “We understand that the work of gathering together of the wheat into barns, or garners, is to take place while the tares are being bound over and preparing for the day of burning; that after the day of burnings, ‘the righteous shall shine forth like the sun, in the Kingdom of their Father.

“Chúng ta hiểu rằng công việc thu gặt lúa mì vào trong kho, hoặc vựa thóc, sẽ xay ra trong khi cỏ lùng được bó lại và chuẩn bị cho ngày đem đi đốt; rằng sau ngày thiêu đốt, thì ‘những người công bình sẽ chói rạng như mặt trời trong nước của Cha mình.
